When Palin was a PTA president, she’d never been a mayor before. When she was mayor, she’d never been a governor before. And by all accounts she’s been a massive success each time she’s stepped up to the next level (a ridiculous 80% approval rating). No surprise then that she’ll make a great veep, after stepping up from gov.

18 million people thought Hillary Clinton would make a fine PRESIDENT OF THE US — A PRESIDENT! — and she’s less qualified that Palin! Clinton’s been 1) a first lady for about 20 years and 2) a senator for about 6. If that qualifies her as the leader of the free world, then certainly being governor of one of our states qualifies Palin to fill the vp role. Good grief.

Ok last post today, and probably this weekend about this bombshell news, unless something else breaks over the weekend. I doubt it though. I’ve been reading different reactions/responses, a lot of speculation out there. Erick Erickson had a few additional thoughts about this news, and he made an interesting point . I’ve had this running thought all day, perhaps because I was watching it on TV in HD for the first time, that this is kind of like Ben Kenobi letting Darth Vader strike him do
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) – Sarah Palin, the brash, deeply conservative governor of Alaska who crashed onto the U.S. national political scene last year as the Republican candidate for U.S. vice president, announced abruptly on Friday she was resigning as governor. In a rambling statement to the media, in which she took no questions, Palin, 45, indicated she wanted to extend her influence in U.S. politics and some analysts said she appeared to be laying the ground for a run at the presidency in
By Ron BeasleySo Sarah Palin has resigned as governor. It was a surprise to nearly everyone. Now Mark Halperin has come up with ten reasons why she may have done this. Josh Marshall only has two: Either Palin is resigning ahead of some titanic scandal (which should emerge in short order if it exists) or her resignation was triggered by an even more extreme mental instability than we'd previously suspected. I have a different idea. Sarah Palin is ignorant but I don't think she is dumb. She m
I was busy most of the day, but I heard that something might have happened with regard to the 2010 elections. Some sort of a candidate announcement. Might have been a governors race? Perhaps someone here can fill me in.... :) MN-Gov: Apparently, Norm Coleman IS Serious About This Norm Coleman is obviously trying to resemble one of those sandy-bottomed childrens toys that you keep knocking over, only to see it rise again to your endless amusement/frustration. In bowing out as Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin harkened back to her high school basketball days – although there was no sign of the “Barracuda,” as she was nicknamed for her ability to cut through the opposing team’s offenses. In a hastily called press conference on the eve of a three-day holiday, Palin presented herself as a point guard exhausted by the “full court press from the national level.” The 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee explained how the metaphorical point guard should r
Round One in the three-year, non-campaign for the Republican presidential nomination goes to Sarah Palin. She takes that crown with her unexpected announcement on the eve of the 4th of July holiday that she would resign from the governor’s office later this month. Let’s look at the Palin move for: timing, political strategy, and [...]
